Stainless Steel Shims
Stainless steel shims are thin, flat spacers used to fill gaps, align components and set precise clearances where strength, corrosion resistance and dimensional stability matter. Hollinbrow stocks stainless steel shim stock from 0.005mm to 3.00mm thick (5 to 3,000 microns) and can laser cut stainless steel shims to your drawing. Because stainless steel is harder and stronger than brass or copper, it suits higher loads and temperatures and corrosive or hygienic environments.
A 1.4310 / 301 stainless steel tensile range is available (see the PDF below). For softer or more conductive shims, see our brass shims and copper shims. For lighter weight, see aluminium shims, and for non-conductive spacers, plastic shims.

You can order just a meter length of stainless steel shims (ideal for R&D) and have it delivered the next working day if your company is based in Europe. We deliver within 2-3 working days anywhere else in the World.
We also laser-cut shim parts manufactured to your drawings. We offer a rapid quotation and manufacturing service.
Shim Washers – We can supply shim washers, laser-cut to customer specifications or to DIN 988 sizes sizes (see link below). We can cut more than 60 different thicknesses starting from 0.01mm (0.0004″). Shim washers can be laser-cut from Stainless Steel Shim, Carbon Steel Shim, Mild Steel Shim, Brass Shim, Aluminium Shim, Copper Shim, and Phosphor Bronze Shim.
